Catamarans Cup international regatta 2010
NOTICE OF RACE
ORGANISING AUTHORITY
The regatta is organised by ISTION YACHTING in conjunction with ANOIATH in Saronicos Gulf, Greece, from 23 to 30 October 2010
1. RULES
1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing.
1.2 No national authority prescriptions will apply.
1.3 If there is a conflict between languages the English text will take precedence.
2. ADVERTISING
Boats may be required to display advertising and identification chosen and supplied by the organizing authority.
3. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
3.1 The regatta is open to Catamarans either privately owned or chartered through ISTION Yachting.
3.2 Eligible boats may enter by completing the attached form and sending it, together with the required fee, to Istion Yachting, catamaranscup@istion.com, by 23rd September 2010
3.3 Late entries will be accepted with a fee increased by 30%
4. FEES
To enter the 1st Catamarans Cup International each boat shall pay € 480 by 23rd September 2010 via bank’s transfer or with credit card to:

5. SCHEDULE
5.1 Registration:
i. Athens, ISTION Yachting base office in Alimos Marina, 23rd October 2010 from 10.00 to 19.00
ii. Athens, ISTION Yachting base office in Alimos Marina, 24th October 2010 from 08.00 to 10.00
iii. Palea Epidavros, Organization authority stand, 24th October 2010 from 17.00 to 19.00
5.2 Dates of racing:
Monday 25th to Thursday 28th October 2010
5.3 The scheduled time of the warning signal for the race each day is 10.00
6. MEASUREMENTS
6.1 Each boat shall be measured by the organizing authority and a ratting will be assigned considering the dimensions and the age of the boat, the spars and the sails.
6.2 Boats not chartered through Istion Yachting shall be presented for measurement before 1 October after arranging an appointment with Istion Yachting
7. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
The sailing instructions will be available upon registration.
8. VENUE
Attachment A shows the location of the regatta harbours.
9. THE COURSES
The courses to be sailed will be as follows:
1st leg: Old Epidavros – Methana, 16nm
2nd Leg: Methana – Hydra, 20nm
3rd & 4th Leg Hydra - Dokos - Ermioni, 19nm
5th Leg: Ermioni – Poros, 20nm
The route may be modified subject to the weather conditions
10. PENALTY SYSTEM
Rule 44.1 is changed so that the Two-Turns Penalty is replaced by the One-Turn Penalty.
11. SCORING
A boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores.
12. PRIZES
Prizes will be given to:
a. The three first boats of each leg
b. The first three boats in the final scoring
c. The best regatta photo provided by the participants during the race till last leg
d. The crew with nicest presentation during the regatta
More surprising prizes will be announced by the organizing authority.
13. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
Competitors participate in the 1st Catamarans Cup International entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
14. INSURANCE
Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of 1.000.000 euro per event or the equivalent.
